Fairy Tail Endings, Inc. awarded $7,312 grant for senior dogs from The Grey Muzzle Organization
July 1, 2019
The Grey Muzzle Organization believes encouraging the rescue, rehabilitation, adoption, and care of senior dogs to be hugely important and appreciates the work we are doing in this area. We believe age is not a disease and senior pets who have provided a lifetime of loyalty and companionship are just as deserving of our support. We both promote the value of senior pets and encourage investment into their health so they can continue to provide companionship to their families. This is our 6th award from GMO and the third in support of our Silver Dollars Fund which funds surgeries for senior pets, concentrating on treatable conditions that profoundly affect their basic comfort and quality of life and/or increase their risk for surrender or euthanasia. This grant will specifically fund critical surgeries for 15 senior dogs suffering one of these four conditions: bladder stones/blockages, orthopedic disease/injuries, tumors and severe dental disease, helping them achieve comfort and health and remain home with the families they love in their silver years.
While our mission has traditionally focused on funding the treatment of conditions with a good prognosis so that families can stay together, we've had an increasing number of inquiries from owners with pets in the end stage of disease that can't afford to help end their pet's suffering. We created a Rainbow Bridge Fund to assist in the cost of humane euthanasia and cremation and GMO's contribution to this fund will give this final gift of a peaceful passing to 4 senior dogs with a terminal prognosis.
